Value Based Purchasing

This is inspired by an Elon Musk interview from Sal Khan

It is great to hear from Elon Musk, someone who is making value based decisions to try to improve the world.

He stated that the goal of Tesla is to be a catalyst in the electric car market.

He believes that electric cars are innevitable but he wants to accelerate the time that they will have a majority of the market share by 10 years.

We as consumers are the drivers of the market

Voting is nice and it creates change, but, companies and the market will respond a lot quicker if we put our money where our beliefs are.

Tesla is making cars that are getting to be pretty affordabe for the average consumer.

If we buy tesla and other electric cars from manufacturers then these companies will put more research, advertising, etc. into the electric cars to fulfill the demand from the market.

Simply, purchasing power is a huge power that consumers exercise every day.

The Greater the Security, the Less the Risk Taker

The greater the security that someone feels the less that person feels the need to take risks.

Security is a feeling of positive consistency in someone's life. For example, a woman feels secure if every day she comes home her husband is the same sweet, caring, and positive man. The key is he is that way "ALL" the time.

A person feels secure in their job if their boss is always nice and caring, the expectations are consistent, etc. The key again is the positive things in someone's life can always be counted upon.

The more a person feels this sense of security the less this person feels that he or she needs to take risks.

Security means being the same at all times.

For example, if someone is financially secure he has money at all times for whatever he needs.

If someone is emotionally secure then he has someone to speak with at all times any time he is in an emotional state.

Insecurity comes from not having a feeling of security.

If someone does not have finances to meet his needs then he can feel financially insecure.

If someone does not feel like he can go to anyone or figure out an emotional problem on his own then he feels emotionally insecure.

Someone is relationally insecure If  he does not feel like he can keep friends.

Security comes from their being a constant and insecurity comes from their not being a constant (unstable)

The Bar of Love

Posted by johnson.jonathan.m on September 25, 2013 at 10:55 AM Comments comments (0)

There is a bar of love. This bar must be filled with love throughout the course of a day. People are constantly showing you love and the person is not getting tourn down by people who are unloving then their bar can be filled.

Understanding and Confidence make the bar smaller (it takes less love a day to fill up the bar)

and a lack of understanding and confidence make the bar larger (it takes more love a day to fill up the bar)

Babies are born to need a lot of love; their bar is extremely large; they do not have understanding of this huge world and do not initially have confidence in the large people that inhabit the world

The more babies are loved the smaller their bar becomes.

Love is an action word: the actions of love are being kind, patient, hopefull, enduring, truthful, and not being envious, boastful, arrogant, rude, irritable, and resentful.

If some one does these things then he or she can better love othe people

Daddy's Little Girl Syndrome

Im in the middle of watching an open group discussion led by psychologist Carl Rogers where at about 10 minutes into the video a lady starts talking about how she doesnt want to be considered the tiny porcelain doll (because she is tiny and cute like) and she wants everyone to love her, etc.    I gained a theory while watching her. I see this many times, especially while I was in college. Many girls will say I just want to love everyone etc., etc.

There is a fallacy here. There is a difference between where the person is and what the person wants to be. That person has a great want structure but in order to get to the point where she can start loving more people she has to accept that she does not love everyone at that moment. She has to accept that on a daily basis she does things that are not loving to people. Once she understands who she is at the moment then she can more efficiently push to her goal of being able to love more people.

Battling Addiction

The best way to battle addictions are to abstain from the addiction while getting a multitude of positive wants. Battling addictions must be a selfish act. The person must get a multitude of positive wants. For example, I love video games. If I were to be addicted to something, I would combine pushing towards abstinance in the addiction with playing a lot more video games. This should be applied throughout the entire want structure. The person needs to force positive wants. Positive, meaning that it is not detrimental to you or your surrounding.

I believe addiction centers (rehab places, etc.) should have some of the funnest activities on Earth. They should have awesome food, etc. so that the people who are going through addictions can be enspired by the awesomeness of getting positive wants.

Once again, thank you for reading.

Analogy for Wisdom

Knowing what is true in life is a guessing game. Is God real, or is God not real. Is the Earth round, or is it some other shape. For these questions and many others the person must look at the facts, way their emotion on the issue, and decide what he or she believes is the truth. You dont know if you got the answer to the question right though. It's like taking a test and not given back a final grade. There is a measure to know if you are getting a good grade on the test. People call you wise. If people call you wise, or some variation of the word, then you can have a general feeling that you have answered at least 70% correct on the quiz of truth.

Seek Wisdom.

Know Truth.

Motivation: Do When you are Motivated to Do

Posted by johnson.jonathan.m on August 27, 2013 at 12:50 AM Comments comments (0)

You must do positive things when you are motivated to do it. If you've always wanted to do real estate, when you feel that motivation you must take steps towards getting the license (research, calling people, whatever you feel like you should do).  You will absorb a lot more material in a shorter amount of time and be able to work or study the material you want to do for a longer period of time when you are motivated to do it.

The longer you wait to act during that motivation period (the period could be only 5 to 10 minutes) the less amount of energy you will have to put towards that project you want to work on or study.

This website was created by that motivation. Instead of thinking about creating this site like I had done for the past 4 years I was motivated one day (like I was many other days), but this time I used the motivation.

Motivation is like having the green lantern. For that brief period of time you are able to do whatever you want to do (or in the green lantern case concieve whatever you can conceive). Once the motivation period is over the green lantern goes away.

Motivation can also be induced (created). Napoleon Hill in his book outlined some top motivating factors like Music (people listening to music in the gym) and love.

The key, do when you are motivated to do.

Things that are naturally obedient

I'm not an expert on gods will but I feel like I have an understanding of a few things that obey gods will. For example, plants seem as if they are very obedient. They efficiently take in the sun, water, and carbon dioxide and release oxygen and fruits. Very efficient in my mind. I can look into the body to see something else that I believe obeys the will of god, the heart. The heart beats nonstop from the time we are born until the time we die. While were awake and while we sleep. It never stops doing its job. If it does, we die. The heart and plants seem as if they are most times doing what god wants them to do. On the other hand, the brain seems very untamed and not in accordance to the will of god. That's all. thank you for reading.
